FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign up to become a member, and what happens after that?
When you go to "Sign-up to Become a Member!" you sign up for our emailing list, which means you'll get our mass emails once or twice a month with updates on any events, volunteering opportunities, and other important information! In order to become an official member, you must pay dues.

Is it too late to join?
It's never too late to join! Just make sure to fulfill the requirements to become a member.
What do I get out of paying for dues?
You become a real member after you pay the $5 due. This means getting into our member GroupMe, which provides a more direct and quality-over-quantity communication with our members, and having access to all of our volunteering opportunities, social events, and committee applications for this semester!

Can I participate in events without paying dues?
Only members who have paid dues will be allowed to go to and participate in events, but all are welcome to attend our general meetings in order to learn more about our organization!

Where do my dues go?
Since all of our fundraising goes towards the international Doctors Without Borders organization, the dues go towards making this semester's events more enjoyable and successful for our members
What accomplishments has the Student Chapter of Doctors Without Borders at UTD achieved?
Becoming one of the first official student chapters in Texas, founded by Sandra Jovanović, we have already raised over $1,100 for the international organization in under two years - the most donated by any student organization! We are continuing to fund-raise and contribute to the impact of the international organization
